LEGITIMIZING SODOMY AND DELEGITIMIZING CHRISTIANITY

Last night the Moscow City Council passed an ordinance making it a crime to discriminate against someone based on their sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. This creates the opportunity for cross dressers or homosexuals to bring suit if you refuse to rent to them for instance. It reminds me that the left has always said that"you can’t legislate morality”, but in reality they know that to make it legal actually does legitimize the behavior in question.
The council noted that the goal was to change behavior and further the education of the public on this issue. They did not designate a penalty for non-compliance, reasoning that if people would repent and come into compliance with the policy, the punishment would be minimal. But since the punishment was not defined it also left it wide open for the penalty to be as severe as necessary to bring about the re-educational goals. Moscow mayor Nancy Chaney indicated we were the first city in Idaho to lead the way in this area.
It was one of the"conservatives” on the City Council who moved to suspend the rules requiring three complete and separate readings, to dis-allow any public comment, and adopt the ordinance immediately. Typical of today’s moderate Republicans the only ground they really want to defend is, apparently, fiscal conservatism. In reality, however, don’t ever expect to get any real principled resistance from those moderates on the scope and limits of government because they have given up the very idea of moral, ethical, and philosophical limits to government. You can’t expect technicians committed to doing nothing more than making the machine run more efficiently to do any dismantling of the machine.
On the other hand, our Founding Fathers, the ones who signed the Declaration of Independence, did not make practical arguments for limited government. Their arguments were moral and legal. And their arguments for the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and property could be found in English Common Law, (itself founded solidly on the Mosaic Law of the Old Testament), and explained and defended by Blackstone in his Commentaries on the Laws of England. It was the belief in the Creator, knowable Natural Law, and universal Natural Rights that our system was built on, and once that foundation is destroyed the rest of the structure is coming down. The very philosophical basis for the"rule of law”, Natural Rights, and limitations on the scope and power of government, is the idea that government itself is accountable to the Creator and His Natural Law. Abandon all that stuff and you are just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

LETTER ON DHS PREPARATIONS FOR DOMESTIC WAR

With the DHS's recent order of 1.6 billion rounds of hollow point ammo (those are not used for target practice) it raises some very concerning questions about the plans of this administration. This letter boldly addresses the obvious possibility that they are preparing for war against us. Millions of concerned citizens are also buying ammo to the tune of billions of rounds, also obviously preparing for the same contingency. And our politicians keep playing the same old games of self-serving and compromise.
